The Other Self / Flesh Series – Temporalities II

The flesh series - Temporalities II, refers to materiality inside the body. Mainly muscles and tissues that help bones and organs under the skin to retain human form. Muscles are known to have force. Referring to the muscle force using prosciutto, I shaped it into basic geometric forms, to see if the muscle takes new shape or retain its force, it was interesting to observe that muscle slightly deshaped the forms due to its force. Another observation was we only refer meat or flesh to animals as humans consume them at large, however the moment its subjective perception is change due to the change form, the notion of materiality becomes challenging or may be unacceptable. The series has been developed from 2015 to 2018.
