Project Description

Dialogue of Corpus and Objects

The interdisciplinary approach in practice can lead to new ways of expressions. Being an artist working with objects, my relation to metal is very direct and personal, as it is a strong reference to tradition and corpus itself. However I work with interdisciplinary approach, and try to further explore the basic relationship between different techniques and materials in the field. I combine different materials and techniques together to challenge the agency of material, technique and process. By building new forms of expressions through different layers of techniques and materials together, I try to find and redefine my own definition and meaning of corpus and objects, in contemporary discourse, however not fully ignoring or overlooking the historical and traditional references related to it.

Live body molds of symbolically significant parts of body, that represent various acts related to consumption of food resulting in energy, depicting muscular power or bodily energy - mouth, stomach/abs, biceps, hand wrists were transformed into corpus vessels. the forms were combined technically through joining, addition, elision repetition of various elements. These corpus objects were made in porcelain with crystalline glaze on top.
